10 Places to Update Your Home Address Once You've Moved

So you've moved…now what?

Well, that is a loaded question. There’s lots to be done upon moving, from getting unpacked and re-organized in your new space to furniture shopping and getting to know your neighborhood. Right now we’re going to talk about updating your new home address, which is an important step for so many reasons.

Here’s a list of recommended places/accounts to update your home address on:

1.) Driver’s license/government-issued ID

2.) U.S. Postal Service (link below for mail forwarding)

3.) Voter registration (link below)

4.) Bank account(s)

5.) Your employer

6.) Your doctor's office(s)

7.) Your insurance provider (health, life, car, home, etc.)

8.) Any existing online registries, such as a wedding registry

9.) Frequently shopped sites, such as Walmart or Amazon

10.) Don’t forget to tell you friends and family where you’ve moved to!

No more packages sent to the wrong address or missing W-2s when tax time rolls around! While you work on updating your address in the places listed above, be sure to request mail forwarding. You can do that along with updating your voter registration here.
